Thailand-Songkran Festival

Thailand calendar is full of festivals and religious holidays and Songkran festival which is the Thai traditional new year starts on April 13 is the most striking one

The term Songkran comes from Sanskrit  "Sankranta" and means "a move or change"


in this festival people pour water on each other as means of purification
every year lots of tourists come to Thailand to take part in this event 
usually people celebrate this festival for three days and if you are interested in traditional way of celebrating ,you should go to the temples to join the Buddhists to spray the water on statue of Buddha    
If you are going to be in Thailand during Songkran , keep your money and mobile in a plastic bag and be ready to get wet!
