Rakhi festival is popular all over the India but in the south it is more famous where brothers and sisters that are living separately , pay visits to each other houses and a lots of cookies and sweets exchange between people like almost all Indian feasts.
The main custom however is tying a holy thread or Rakhi by the sisters on her brother's wrist ,and the brother in return offers a gift to his sister
